Every statement, marking and declaration the DeStatiX-A9 carries, in one place. Each market is written in the language that market requires, so this page stays a single page however many markets are added.

FCC ISED CE UKCA VCCI J-Moss RoHS REACH

1. Authorisations held

The DeStatiX-A9 is a USB peripheral and therefore a digital apparatus. Its EMC treatment differs by market, and each market asks for its own statement and marking. The product holds all of the following:

  • FCC — United States, Part 15 Class B digital device, authorised under the Supplier's Declaration of Conformity
  • ISED — Canada, ICES-003, labelled CAN ICES-3(B) / NMB-3(B), with the French statement published alongside
  • CE — European Union, Directive 2014/30/EU on electromagnetic compatibility, and covered by an EU Declaration of Conformity
  • UKCA — Great Britain, Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016
  • VCCI — Japan, the VCCI Council's Class B requirements for information technology equipment, labelled VCCI-B
  • J-Moss — Japan, JIS C 0950, green mark: the six restricted substances are all below the threshold values
  • RoHS — EU Directive 2011/65/EU and the UK RoHS Regulations 2012
  • REACH — EU Regulation 1907/2006, with UK REACH for Great Britain

Also covered: UK WEEE registration, with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product. The DeStatiX-A9 contains no battery, so battery regulations do not apply to it.

2. United States — FCC

In the United States the product falls under FCC Part 15 Subpart B as a digital device, and is authorised under the Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) procedure. The responsible party — normally the US manufacturer, importer or the entity named on the label — must keep the test record on file.

Responsible party in the United States:

  • Name: REPLACE_US_RESPONSIBLE_PARTY
  • Address: REPLACE_US_ADDRESS

The required statement:

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Class B — this equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, which are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

3. Canada — ICES-003 / NMB-003

In Canada the product is an interference-causing equipment item governed by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), and must meet ICES-003. The statement, and the CAN ICES-3(B) / NMB-3(B) marking, appear on the product label and in its documentation. Both official languages are published, because Québec requires French under the Charter of the French language and ISED expects bilingual labelling.

English

This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003.

Français

Cet appareil numérique de la classe B est conforme à la norme NMB-003 du Canada.

4. European Union — CE

The product carries the CE marking under Directive 2014/30/EU on electromagnetic compatibility and is covered by an EU Declaration of Conformity. Northern Ireland follows EU rules and uses the CE marking.

EU law requires the declaration and the instructions to be supplied in the language of the member state where the product is placed on the market, so there is no single correct language for the Union as a whole. English is the default here; tell us which country you bought in and we will supply the declaration in that country's official language.

5. United Kingdom — UKCA

Great Britain requires the UKCA marking for products within its scope, under the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016 as amended. The UKCA mark must be at least 5 mm and appears on the product, its packaging and its documentation.

Northern Ireland follows EU rules and requires CE marking; it does not use UKCA alone. Both marks are held, so nothing here rests on the UK's acceptance of CE marking in Great Britain — a position that has been extended more than once and may change again. Holding UKCA in its own right removes any dependence on it.

Authorised representative or UK responsible person:

  • Name: REPLACE_UK_RESPONSIBLE_PERSON
  • Address: REPLACE_UK_ADDRESS

Technical documentation, the UK Declaration of Conformity and the conformity assessment must be held before the product is placed on the market. Importers and distributors must be able to produce them.

6. 日本 — VCCI・J-Moss

7. RoHS, REACH, WEEE & packaging

  • RoHS — the product meets the UK Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 and EU Directive 2011/65/EU. The United States has no equivalent federal rule, but California applies its own RoHS.
  • REACH — under EU Regulation 1907/2006 the product contains no substance of very high concern from the ECHA candidate list above 0.1% weight by weight. Below that threshold the Article 33 communication duty is not triggered. Because it is also below the threshold, no SCIP notification to the European Chemicals Agency is required. Great Britain is covered separately by UK REACH, which maintains its own list.
  • WEEE — electrical and electronic equipment placed on the UK market is covered by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013. Producers must register with a compliance scheme and finance the treatment of waste from that equipment. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol must appear on the product. Equivalent obligations apply in the EU under Directive 2012/19/EU.
  • Packaging — the UK Packaging Waste Regulations and their equivalents in Canada and the US states apply to the retail box.

8. Requesting the documents

Test reports, the Declarations of Conformity and the technical file are held for every authorisation listed above and are available to a market surveillance authority, importer or distributor on request. They are the documents the statements on this page are drawn from.

Email [email protected] and say which market you need them for. Company identification and the terms of sale are on the legal & compliance page.
